I've never thought about Judgement as the thing that AI is lacking, but that's a good way to think about it! I've felt this many times when I've tried to get it to help me think through some strategy. AI always has ideas and is confident in them, but some are obviously very bad. On subjects that I know well, those are obvious to me. In subjects I don't know, it's not always clear which ideas and suggestions are bad. That's a big risk.

I've tried the technique of having it argue with itself, which did help! As you said, you still need to maintain final authority and think hard about how you use the output.

Have you considered that the real risk isn’t that AI gets things wrong—

it’s that it removes the friction that used to expose bad thinking?

Bad ideas used to break under effort.

Now they get refined, structured, and accelerated.

That’s where people get into trouble.
