The Santa Story We Never Outgrow
Some stories grow up with us, yet their wonder remains timeless.
Every December, I find myself returning to a piece of writing that reminds me what this season is really about. In 1897, a precocious 8-year-old girl asked The New York Sun newspaper a question that every child wonders at some point. The newspaper’s reply didn’t just answer her; it captured something timeless about hope, innocence, and the quiet magic that carries us through life's most difficult moments.
I don’t often stray from personal finance here, but once a year, it feels right to pause and share something that reminds us why the work matters.
I’m sharing it again because, more than a century later, its message still has a way of softening the edges. It reminds us that not everything real can be measured, counted, or explained, and that some of the most important things never could be.

May it bring you a moment of wonder, and maybe even a little peace, as we head into the new year.
